Growing in faith

Christ the King is more than a congregation; we are a family. God has brought us together for a purpose, and provided each of His people with unique gifts to use for that purpose. Every member of Christ's family has a call to his or her special ministry.

We are committed to one another through the bond of shared faith. We pray with and for our brothers and sisters. We study God's word together, raise our children to know the Lord, and enjoy spending time together. We grow stronger by sharing the responsibilities of our church family.

Christian Education

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Christian education for all ages is a central element of our community life. Sunday mornings include Sunday School and Confirmation classes for all, from preschoolers to adults, following the first worship service, September through May.

Bible study and prayer are part of small group gatherings held regularly at church or in homes.  Middle School youth have special instruction to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion, followed by two years of catechism instruction leading to Confirmation.

Children and youth

Start children off in the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Children are an important part of our inter-generational church family. Each child is mentored through a series of Faith Stepping Stones, from baptism through young adulthood.

Especially for kids and teens:

Nursery and Sunday School each week, Vacation Bible School, Boy Scout Troop 438, First Communion and Confirmation classes, the annual ADVENTure afternoon, and the Family Christmas Service. Kids and teens serve with others as worship, music and ministry volunteers, and serve as role models for younger kids. Kids and Youth Events

serving together

We all are called to service, to witness in God's name.

Our ministries are different; our purpose is the same.

Like any family, a church family has ongoing and special projects and weekly tasks that the members of the family share. A new friend and helper is always welcome in any of these areas!

What do you enjoy most? You can be sure there's a place for you to put your talents to work as we discover the joys of working together as God's children serving the congregation and the community beyond our walls. God has a ministry of service designed just for you!
