outreach missions

Some of the ministries we support extend our reach, in order to share the love of Christ and the Gospel message

beyond our local community or bring the Good News to those who would otherwise not be able to hear it.

Some of these mission endeavors involve our direct efforts and time commitment

and others require gifts of time spent in prayer or sacrificial giving.

Meeting International Needs with Warm Quilts

This group of quilters meet in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday mornings, September through May, to cut and assemble quilts from donated and purchased fabrics, which are sent twice a year to Lutheran World Relief for distribution. The group includes some who work at home to assemble tops or cut squares. See photos of the fall 2018 and spring 2019 completed quilts in the slide show below. Contact:Ken Ruud

A  Shared Mission Project Every Year

Each year, the Sunday School classes dedicate the weekly offerings to a special project to support our brothers and sisters outside our local area.  We have purchased bicycles for pastors in Africa, cows and chickens to help support needy families, helped build homes for mothers and kids in poor communities and improve water systems.   This year we are partnered with World Vision International to provide Nativity Animals for families in rural areas

Support and Prayers for Those in the Mission Field

Our church family supports missionaries, church workers and seminary students with designated gifts and prayers. Our list currently includes a missionary pastor in China, two seminary students, several South Sudanese church worker students, a pastor in Kenya,  and three missionary couples.  One of these couples is the daughter and son-in-law of members of our congregation.
