social ministries

The Social Ministry endeavors at Christ the King are many and varied, serving many people.

Here are some of the things we do throughout the year in our local community:

  • CFH congregations for the homeless                                                                                                                                                   from homelessness to housing one man at a time

Perhaps our biggest yearly outreach endeavor is Congregations for the Homeless men’s shelter program. Our church is one of 12 congregations, who house up to 30 homeless men for one month out of the year. We feed breakfast, lunch & dinner every day for the entire month and provide the shelter of our church to sleep. We enlist the support of other churches in the area to help us provide the food. We feel this ministry is a tremendous blessing to the men who stay with us and to all who are called to serve!

  • salvation army dinners

Once a month we shop, prepare and serve dinner to underprivileged families at the Salvation Army in Bellevue, We may feed as many as eighty guests.

  • christmas giving tree

Each Christmas we partner with a local agency Belleview Lifespring to provide Christmas gifts and groceries for families in need as we share the joy of God's gift to us, His son, Jesus.

  • donations in kind

We donate food to the Bellevue Hopelink Food Bank on a regular basis or with special seasonal drives and give clothing and other items to the Eastside Baby Corner. Each year a different organization is the recipient of our Lenten Alms collection of goods and monetary gifts.

  • supporting local agencies

Our Social Ministries Committee selects an average of fifteen local charities each year whose work supports our mission goals. Charities are chosen that support various life stages, including babies & children, teens, families & seniors.  These charities receive quarterly financial support as part of our commitment to serving our neighbors.
