Gathered as God's family

Worship is the primary activity of God's people. Our services are centered on Word and Sacrament and are presented in an eclectic liturgical style based on the rich worship heritage of the church.  The Christian faith of our community is strengthened, confirmed, and demonstrated in our corporate public worship, so we gather each week with the following expectations and vision:

  God will be glorified,

the Gospel will be proclaimed,

and the love of Christ will be shared

in every worship service at Christ the King.

liturgical  worship

Our 8:30 am service is presented in the more formal and historic liturgical format of the Divine Service.   We honor our Lutheran musical heritage with rich hymnody, the sung liturgy, choral anthems, soloists, organ, handbells and other instrumentation. Members of the community help lead worship by serving as ushers, lectors, intercessors, children's lesson leaders, cantors, acolytes, crucifers, banner bearers and greeters.

Worship is a family affair at Christ the King, and children are always a welcome part of the worship assembly.  They are encouraged to participate as they are able, and invited to come forward for Children's Lessons and to receive a blessing during Holy Communion.  An attended nursery and children's church bags are available for the youngest members of the family.

contemporary worship

Our 11:00 am service is presented in a more informal style, led by teams of praise musicians.   Worship is based on the same sermon and readings from the lectionary as the earlier service, and also includes Holy Communion.  Five different Praise Teams rotate leadership of this service:  Jesus Messiah, Grace Like Rain, One Spirit, Cross Walk and the youth team New Life. Members of the community also serve as sound and video technicians, worship stewards/ushers.

Families are encouraged to worship together, and children are invited to come forward for Children's Lessons and to receive a blessing during Holy Communion.

An attended nursery and children's church bags are available for the youngest members of the family.

assistance and access

An attended nursery for children under five is available on the Fellowship level during both Sunday services.

Greeters and ushers are happy to help with hearing assist devices, large print worship folders,

children's church bags to keep small children occupied and any other special needs.

Please don't hesitate to ask and allow us the privilege of making you welcome for worship.

and the glory of the lord shall be revealed

AND ALL FLESH SHALL SEE IT TOGETHER.

Isaiah 40:5

O Christ of ecstasy and sorrows, O Prince of peace and pain,

Brighten today's world by tomorrow's, renew our lives again;

Lord Jesus, come and reign.
