  • Lenten alms collection - february 26-April 5

    The Sophia Way, the recipient organization for our annual Lenten Alms collection, is dedicated to ending homelessness for women.  They provide shelter, social services and permanent housing with support. Bring your donations of shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and liquid antibacterial soap to the collection box in the narthex to help the shelter residents. Collection will be dedicated on Palm Sunday, April 5

  • Ash Wednesday

    February 25  at 7:00 pm   Traditional Ash Wednesday worship at Christ the King. Confession, Imposition of Ashes, and Holy Communion at the beginning of the Lenten Season. No soup supper.


    Daytime Ash Wednesday service at Pilgrim Lutheran, Bellevue @ 11:30

  • Lenten Midweek worship services

    Wednesdays during Lent, at 11:30 am or 7:00 pm*  Two Wednesday Lenten services each week, Prayer at Mid-Day and Compline; rotating among three sister congregations.  March 4 Pilgrim Lutheran-Bellevue; March 11 Christ the King-Bellevue; March 18 Pilgrim; March 25 Christ the King; April 1 Redeemer Lutheran-Mercer Island. *April 1 begins @ 6:30 pm, combining supper and a table worship. Evening services at Pilgrim and Christ the King are preceded by Soup Suppers.

  • Midweek soup suppers

    Simple soup and bread suppers precede Lenten Prayer at the Close of Day-Compline each Wednesday in Lent in the hosting congregation.  Come for supper at 6:00* and stay for worship.  March 4, Pilgrim, March 11;, Christ the King; March 18,Pilgrim; March 25, Christ the King. April 1, at Redeemer, Mercer Island begins@ 6:30, combining supper and a table worship service.


  • palm sunday - sunday of the passion

    April 5 at 8:30 am  Traditional rituals open Holy Week, following Christ from his entry into Jerusalem to the cross, including palms, handbells, the reading of the Passion Gospel According to St.Matthew

    11:00 am  Contemporary celebration of Palm/Passion Sunday, also including the readings of the Passion Gospel and palms.

  • maundy thursday - holy thursday

    April 9 at 7:00 pm  First part of the Triduum, or Three Days worship. Holy Thursday service with choral anthem, Individual Absolution and Holy Communion; Stripping of the Altar.

  • good friday

    April 19 at 7:00 pm   Second part of the Triduum. Traditional Good Friday rites, including the Procession of the Cross, the Reproaches, and the Office of Tenebrae or service of darkness. Choral Anthem.

  • the resurrection of our lord - easter day

    Sunday, April 12 at 9:30 am  Festival Easter Worship with Holy Communion, processional, hymns and anthems, Children's Message celebrating the highest festival of the Christian church.

  • easter breakfast

    Easter buffet breakfast for the whole family, following worship service.  Free will offering to support congregational ministries.

    Easter Egg Hunt for children.
